Schedule of the program
The three-day event will begin with a parade with all participants in the San Marco Basin and the Grand Canal on June 2, but will also be open to individuals and officials, with departures and returns to the armory. .
On the second day, the slalom and ballerina trials will take place on the Grand Quai d’Arsenal, a brand new technical / artistic format that will see the boats challenge each other in a mobility test for the beat of the music, while the afternoon we head to the lagoon, where the sprint race will start at the Santo Spirito channel, from the island of San Clemente, a speed race at a distance of 500 meters.
The third day will be devoted to the duration of the boats involved and the most demanding test of autonomy, followed by the prize-giving of the Regatta – the Venice Nautical Show Trophy – and a conference on the theme: towards ecological transition. All boats will be anchored in the e-village inside the Venice Boat Show. The committee is donating the registrations for the race to an association that will provide navigation services to people with disabilities on boats designed and built specifically with zero impact in Venice, which reduce wave speed and are electrically powered, called BEPI ( electric boat for all Italians). .
BEPI project: electric boats for all Italians
As part of the e-regatta program, the BEPI project (electric boat for all Italians) will be presented, a boat designed to facilitate people with mobility problems that offers cultural tours of Venice with an experience of navigation in the lagoon represents an integration opportunity. , Also intended for small groups of people with reduced mobility. BEPI reverses the traditional view on the question of access, in fact, not only architectural barriers will be overcome, but also psychological ones.
The shipyard project, which will go into the water for the next season, will be really complex and accessible without expensive equipment, keeping all guests on the same level.
The innovative and asymmetrical design will allow auxiliary access to all from the floating dock and the Venetian shores. In addition, the configuration of the multihull and the electric motor will reduce waves and pollution. The open cover and the large living space will allow easy and pleasant transport of people and wheelchairs.
Evaluating the costs would therefore be an extraordinary opportunity to meet and explore the beaten track, as the Venetian Lagoon can only offer the most attentive visitors.
The Venice Boat Show is promoted by the Municipality of Venice and produced by the company Vella Spa in collaboration with the Italian Navy. The partners of the event are key companies such as Annie, Intesa Sanpolo, Generali, Consorzio Prosecco DOC and Venice and the Chamber of Commerce of Rovigo. Mol Arbana, e-concept and technical partner of ABB.
