KNX talks to LAPD chief about Venice Beach homelessness issue
A central Pennsylvania-based broadcasting company promoted its morning man and general manager to vice president, Barrett News Media has learned.
Pat Ryan, who runs News Talk 103.7 FM in Chambersburg, Pa., Will now serve as vice president of Magnum Broadcasting.
“Oh my God, I still have work to do,” Ryan said jokingly during a one-on-one meeting with BNM. “It’s nice to be recognized by the company and I love the idea of working on the Florida Keys brands.”
Magnum owns and operates several stations in the Keys, including a 50,000 watt FM signal which was renamed Keys Talk 96.9 FM last September.
“To make Chambersburg something special over the last couple of years and to take that model and bring it to the Keys is something that I’m very passionate about.”
Ryan said the prospect of growth in the south is a challenge he looks forward to.
“There aren’t any big talkers out there,” Ryan said. “People crave an aggressive, hyper-local news / show station to become a vital part of this community. ”
Ryan will continue his daily responsibilities as the host of the morning show of First news in Chambersburg as he moved to his role overseeing programming and sales for Magnum radio stations in Pennsylvania and Florida.
